When Glock Designed the GLOCK 41 they wanted to design something that would make the .45 line more accurate for both competition and duty use. To do this they increased the barrel and slide length giving the shooter a longer sight radius for more accuracy and also improving the weight distribution. With the heavier slide and barrel the muzzle rise has been diminished, allowing the ability to acquire and engage targets in rapid succession significantly.
